[FIRST IMPRESSION] e.l.f. | Snow White Collection - Eye Collection

Hey Beauties, I'm so excited to be posting this for you guys! It's featuring e.l.f.'s new collection at Walgreens featuring one of my favorite Disney Princesses, Snow White! In this post, I'm featuring the eye collection, which features an e/s palette, mascara, and a sponge tip applicator. Anyhow, let's get into my likes and dislikes!

 

Likes:
- Packaging: The packaging is adorable! From the box it comes in down to the mascara handle and the way the sponge tip applicator matches the palette, this is by far one of the best packaging jobs I've seen! The Snow White decal on the palette itself is printed on there and there's also an "S" and "W" printed on the mascara handle which gives it a beautiful and dainty touch. If you're a makeup collector and love Disney things then I think you'll definitely like this eye collection.
- Pigmentation: I'm so impressed with the pigmentation from the eyeshadows, especially the teal eyeshadow. Whenever  I see a teal e/s I'm always hesitant and brace myself to be disappointed because they're rarely pigmented, but I was pleasantly surprise with how pigmented it was. I did apply it in layers because I wanted to make sure the shimmer in it stuck to my lid and to make sure that the color would stand out even after I applied the other e/s.
- Blendability: When it comes to e.l.f.'s e/s I usually run into the problem with blending out the darker colors because they tend to need a little bit more work, but all the colors in this palette blend like a dream and it doesn't take long to blend any harsh lines out.
- Mascara: The mascara that they give is pretty good. I'm surprised that it was able to hold my curl and it didn't transfer. I liked how it wasn't an extremely wet formula nor was it extremely dry; it was definitely a good middle ground. I also love how the wand is on the smaller side, because it makes it easier to coat every single lash, and it doesn't have plastic bristles which I'm definitely appreciative of.

Dislikes:
- Color Choices: I'm not too fond of one of the colors they placed in the palette, which is the teal color. When I see it, I automatically think of Ariel (Little Mermaid). I would've loved to have seen maybe a gold or champagne/rose gold color instead. I've come to grips with the navy blue in there because I do think of navy blue when it comes to snow white, but I think a cobalt blue would've been a fun addition.
- Sponge Tip Applicator: Looking at what came in the eye collection, I wish they would've replaced the sponge tip applicator with something else. The sponge tip applicator could've been placed in the palette itself and it would've been nice to have maybe an eyeliner or an eye brush instead. Considering most people don't even use sponge tip applicators, I think it would've been more beneficial to have something else replace the applicator.
- Finishes: I wish there were different finishes in the palette. It's a combination of shimmery and suede finishes and I would've liked to have the beige e/s be matte instead of shimmery.

Overall:
I really like this collection. I feel like this palette is something that anybody and everybody can use and it can be extremely versatile. If you love to collect makeup just because of packaging, then you would love this collection because it's affordable and with this particular palette, you won't be afraid to use the colors. I do wish that the light beige was a matte finish instead of a shimmery one and I would've also liked to have something else, like an eyeliner or falsies, replace the area where the sponge tip applicator is located.

[FIRST IMPRESSION] Revlon | Color Stay - Moisture Stain - Barcelona Nights

Happy Monday Beauties :] Hope your Monday is off to a good start... I had to attempt to sleep through a lot of rain, lightning, and thunder, which means I got very little sleep lol. Anyhow for today's first impression I wanted to use this semi-new Revlon lip product, I've been on a lip product craze lately and kind of building up my lip product collection. Let me stop blabbering and get right into the review.

Likes:
- It feels lightweight on my lips which makes it great for everyday wear, no matter what type of weather it is.
- After hours of wear, my lips don't feel dried out or chapped, which is the first time I've had a staining product not dry out my lips.
- The pigmentation is nice, but you have to build it up in layers.
- It has a decent wear time as long as I don't eat or drink anything.
- I love how it feels when I'm applying it, it feels like I'm almost applying water based product on my lips and it's just amazing.

Dislikes:
- It applies so unevenly. I really need to work slowly with the product to apply it and build up the color. When I attempt to sweep on one layer, it applies extremely patchy.
- The doe-foot applicator makes it a little difficult to control the product when applying. It's extremely easy for me to over apply, go outside of my lip line, and to get into the corners of my lips.
- I don't really notice it staining my lips. When you finally get an opaque layer on, the color looks great, but when you drink something the color can come off patchy, and if I wipe the color off with a napkin (even after a couple hours of wear) it doesn't really look like my lips have been stained with the color.

So Far...
It's an okay product. I don't know if it's something that I would want to wear on an everyday basis because it's extremely high maintenance. If I were to just be going out and hanging with friends or my boyfriend and we're just going to the movies or having a really chill day, then I might wear this because once it fades I know it won't be a big deal. I'm not sure if I'm going to pick up more colors because of how high maintenance it is to apply and maintain the color, and the fact that it doesn't really stain kind of frustrates me because that's the whole reason why I got it.

In the next couple of days, I'm definitely going to be putting it to the test and I'll see how it holds up. Be on the look out for a full review on this product! [FIRST IMPRESSION] L'Orèal | Pop Balm - Electric Pink

Hey Beauties! Today's post is on a new drug store product :] I'm not sure if you've seen them on the shelves yet, my nearest Target only has 2 different colors and the nearest Walmart has about 4 different shades, but it's on the new Pop Balms from L'Oreal! I was extremely intrigued because from what I have heard from the regular Le Balm line, you get a sheer wash of color and the colors are pretty neutral and toned down. With this line I was hoping that it would be a little bit more pigmented and vibrant. Let's get into my likes and dislikes:

Likes:
- I really like the formula for this product, it's extremely moisturizing on my lips and makes them feel extremely soft.
- I can put multiple layers on without my lips feeling too greasy or slippery
- It doesn't leave my lips feeling dry after it rubs off
- It's a pretty affordable lip balm

Dislikes:
- The scent is extremely off-putting. It smells like plastic, and I'm not sure if it's just the one that I got or if that's just the scent.
- When I apply it, I can taste the scent, but after a couple of minutes it seems to ware off.
- I wish it was a bit more pigmented, especially since it's supposed to give off a "Vibrant" pop of color. When I use it, it doesn't add any color to my lips.

Overall:
I'm definitely interested in trying more of the colors to see if there's a difference between them and to also see if the smell is the same with the others. Although, I want to try all of them, I'm not sure if I'll be doing that any time soon since it's about $6-$8 each. However, I am satisfied with it so far. I'm going to use it more because I like how lightweight it feels and I think it's great for Summer.

[FIRST IMPRESSION] Milani | Bella Eyes Gel Powder E/S - Bella Teal (Metallic)

Hi Beauties! Hope you all had a great start to the week! Sorry I've been a little MIA, I've been in a little slump emotionally and decided to take a little break. But I'm back with a new first impression on a new Milani product! I'm sure you've seen these in stores like Walgreens and CVS, and have been a tad bit curious about it, so I decided to try out this one for my first impression! Let's dive right in :]

The Concept:
So basically, the reason why it's called Gel Powder is because it starts out as a gel formula and then is turned into a pressed powder. Due to that process, it's supposed to give off a more pigmented and opaque look. There are 30 different shades with a range of finishes and a wide variety of colors.

Likes:
1. The first thing I like is how inexpensive this is. I bought mine for $3.99 at Walgreens, which is very reasonable for a single E/S. If you can purchase this while the Milani products are on sale, you'll get an even better deal.
2. I was extremely impressed with how pigmented this applied (I used my fingers) and I was extremely surprised that it actually had that metallic look to it. A lot of the times when I use E/S that claim to be metallic, I need to use a damp brush because if I only use my fingers to apply it, it comes across as a shimmery E/S.
3. When it comes to using colors, especially blues, they can be very difficult to blend, but this blends so easily. It blended in with my crease color which made for a nice transition and also blended in great with the eyeliners I used on my lower lash line and it didn't bleed out throughout the day.
4. The color is BEAUTIFUL! I love this color. In the pan it looks like it'll come off as a denim blue, but on my skin tone it actually looks like a light teal.

Dislikes:
1. The staying power isn't the greatest. Even when I use a base, I noticed that it started to fade after about 3 hours of wear, and I was indoors basically doing nothing. Although it faded, overall, it didn't look that bad because you could still see the color in the overall look, just not up close.


Overall:
I think the concept is great, I just wished that the color would last longer because you lose the impact of the color. I love the variety of colors in the line, and I have high hopes for the metallics because based off of this one color, they're a true metallic finish without having to do anything extra. The price is extremely reasonable and overall I really like it. I'm planning to buy a couple more in different finishes just to see what they're like!

[REVIEW} NYX - Butter Lipstick (BLS12 - Little Susie)

Happy Hump Day Beauties! Today's review is on a product I've been itching to try for the longest time, it's NYX's Butter Lipsticks! NYX has been extremely successful with their Butter Lipgloss line and I was extremely excited to see that they took that idea and created a lip balm and lipstick line. I'm not much of a lipgloss person, so I didn't care to try out any of their lip glosses, but I do love me some lipsticks and this was right up my alley! I decided to try this color first because it looked like a great in between color; it wasn't one of the more vibrant/darker colors, but it's not one of the nudes, it's a great middle ground. I purchased my lipstick from Target for about $5.99, but you can pick it up online or at Ulta, Target, and some other beauty supply stores that carry NYX. Anyhow, let's get into the review :]
*In the pictures, the color isn't true to the actual product. In person the product is a lot darker and pinker, not red/orange*

Breakdown:
Color Selections: As a decently new product line, there's a good amount of color range. You have your neutrals, corals, pinks, purples, and reds and in each color category you have about 2-3 different shades you can pick from. This particular color falls into the pink category; it's a rosy pink without a lot of mauve undertones.

Pigmentation: With one swatch there's a decent amount of pigmentation. When you swipe the product across your lips (or if your swatching it, your hand) you'll notice that the product doesn't really apply it evenly and it ends up being more opaque on the outskirts, but patchy in the middle.

Application: It applies smoothly on the lips, but in order to get the best application I suggest dabbing it on and then smoothing it in with you finger. When I apply it straight from the tube I do notice that it applies patchy and the color isn't distributed evenly. I think the way the lipstick is shaped has something to do with the patchy application, unlike other lipsticks the angle it's cut isn't the most easiest to work with.

Longevity: This lipstick has a longer staying power than the other ones I have, but I definitely would not wear it on it's own. The times that I have worn it on it's own, it was fine until I would eat or drink something (very typical w/ any lipstick). After having a meal I notice that it would fade off really patchy and I would need to reapply, especially in the middle of my lips. When I use a lip liner underneath, there's a more even fade, but the fading is concentrated in the middle of my lips.

Overall:
This is one of the more comfortable lipsticks that I've worn and owe, but I do notice that it accentuates any of the dry spots on my lips. If you're going to use this I suggest you make sure to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before application. I do notice that my lips get a little drier after it fully wares off, so you'll also want a good lip moisturizer or exfoliator afterwards. I like the product, but I'm not in love with it. I like how it's very comfortable on my lips and feels moisturizing, but it's definitely a high maintenance lipstick to apply which I don't appreciate and it's not easy to work with everyday. I also don't like how patchy it fades because you'll definitely have to take care of it while you're out and about.
