I'm back for another review on yet another e.l.f. product. I gotta admit that some of these products have been pretty impressive lately, so I definitely had high hopes for this one. Let's get into the review shall we :]
Breakdown:
Packaging: I'm definitely on the fence with this packaging, I like how sleek it looks and how it's in a stick formation. The one thing that I don't like is how cheap the cap feels when I take it off the product. It feels like cheap metal that was cut poorly, but the bottom half (where the product is) feels sturdy and has a good weight to it.
Coverage: With the texture of this product I was expecting it to have really good coverage to it, but it has very minimal coverage. It has a texture like a full coverage concealer, and it even applies like a full coverage concealer, but when you blend it out it provides minimal coverage. The color is a lot lighter in the packaging than what they show on the box which threw me off, but it works as a pretty good highlighter.
Longevity: I'm actually surprised with how long this product lasts. It does a decent job of surviving the heat, and it doesn't settle into my fine lines under my eyes. On a normal day it'll last for about 4-6 hours without a problem. After that, I start to see my dark circles becoming more visible (just remember that it doesn't provide a lot of coverage in the first place.
Color: I don't like how light this color is, especially for the name. I was expecting it to be at least 3 shades darker, and the actual box shows it being a darker color. If you're going to buy this product, definitely look at the color that's on the product itself. That ring of color on the cap is more true to the actual color than what it shows on the box.
Price: e.l.f. is extremely affordable, and I think we can all agree that majority of the products are hit or miss, but if you're looking for something to use as a highlight without using too much shimmer this is a good option.
Overall:
I'm definitely on the fence with whether or not I like this product. It's a good highlighter, but I definitely wouldn't consider it a concealer. I have trouble spots on my chin and even if I concentrate the product, it doesn't conceal it. I also like how long it lasts and I don't have to worry about it slipping off of my face in the hot heat. If you want to try it, it wouldn't be too big of an investment and you could just ask for your money back, but like I said, I've been using this for about 2-3 weeks and I still can't make up my mind. There's a good chance that I'll use it up, but I probably won't repurchase it again.
