About two weeks ago I made a small trip to Ulta to check out their 40% off deal. Unfortunately nothing caught my eye, so I wandered over to their skin care section (honestly I just wanted to buy a new mask lol), and I stumbled upon this pretty little set right here! It's a great money saver because I got to try 4 products for the price of $10, and they're decent size products too, not the little baby samples that you only get one or two uses out of.
So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser - $5.99
This has to be one of the best things that has ever come into my life, well skin care wise. When this thing says it's a deep pore cleanser, it aint lying. The first time I used it I was extremely intimidated because after the first swipe on my face all I could smell was alcohol. I was honestly afraid that my face was going to peel off! But it didn't (obviously), after the first use I looked at the cotton pad and realized that it did take away some of my blackheads.
I've been using is consistently for the past two weeks and it has made a huge difference on my skin. I don't have those weird patches, white heads, or black heads around my nose and I feel like my skin actually has the chance to soak up my moisturizer.
This little bottle only has 2 fl oz and that's way more than enough for me; this can last me for a couple of months no problem.
Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser - $5.99
This is another one that has changed my entire skin care life! It says that it's a gel formula, but it's actually a runny liquid formula, which threw me off when I first used it. This cleanser does a great job at removing any excess face makeup I have on and doesn't give me that tight feeling on my face after I use it. It has a really nice gentle foam that isn't over bearing and at the same time it's not like there's no foam at all.
The scent is one thing that will probably make or break this product for you. On the bottle it says that it's passionfruit and green tea, but in my opinion it smells nothing like that. It has like a light Earthy scent to it, it's really hard for me to describe it, but since it's not extremely harsh I don't mind it.
Deep Down Detox: Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask - $5.99
I've tried one of these masks in the past, in fact I have the Pores Be Pure mask in the full size bottle. This sample set came with two baby packs of this particular mask and I was extremely interested to try it. I used this mask after I cleansed and moisturized my face (I really wanted to get deep down into my skin and remove any impurities). Let me just warn you, never use this after you've just cleansed your skin because it'll burn like nobody's business.
If you're not a big fan of citrus scents then you'll definitely want to steer clear of this product. You get a big whiff of orange and it'll smell like you just lathered orange all over your face.
I didn't notice a hug difference in my skin and I couldn't wear it for the full 10 minutes because it just started burning certain spots on my skin.
Keep Me Clean: Clarifying Facial Wipes - $5.99
This wipe is supposed to be a cleansing facial wipe with which hazel and cucumber. I never used which hazel before and I don't think I'd want to. I have a couple of gripes with this particular product. The main thing that I don't like is the fact that the wipes themselves are so soft and break so easily, that I feel like it doesn't do much in terms of cleaning my face. I usually use the Walmart brand makeup remover wipes (textured) to take off my makeup and I feel like that does a great job of getting deep down in there to get my makeup off.
I did a little experiment and used this wipe to take off my makeup, and I just wanted to see how much it can get off. So I used both sides of this wipe and then I went in with my usual makeup remover and these wipes missed a lot of makeup. I still had residue from my brow powder, foundation, and bronzer.
I also don't care for the smell. It's an extremely heavy scented cucumber smell (almost as if you had a freshly cut cucumber) mixed with something else that I can really put my finger on.
Overall, I just don't care for this product and it leaves my face feeling extremely dry and tight. No bueno for me.
My favorite products from this little mini collection is the two cleansers, the first two products I talked about. The combination of the two along with my moisturizer has given me the smoothest and most even skin I've had in a really long time. I love going around bare faced and my family has also noticed the my skin looks a lot brighter and even. I don't have sensitive skin, so if you do want to try this and you do have sensitive skin, I will say be weary because these products are extremely deep cleaning and can be intense.
I haven't experienced any break outs, rashes, or irritation from these products and I will definitely be buying the two cleaners once I run out. I'm looking into trying their moisturizers because I'm just loving their skin care line right now.
